Rachael Millanta is a sports and comedy writer originally from Sydney, Australia, now based in the United States.

Rachael currently works as an MLB Writer for Heavy Sports, where she is responsible for reporting breaking news, covering games and events, producing feature stories, and performing in-depth analysis of Major League Baseball. Prior to this role, she led MLB and NHL coverage for BetMGM and covered the Chicago White Sox for SB Nation.

Rachael’s comedy television pilot, I Could Do That, was a finalist (top 5) in Roadmap Writer's Jumpstart Writing Competition 2021, a semifinalist in The Script Lab's Screenplay Contest 2021, and spent numerous weeks on Coverfly's Red List. She has written for Giant Dwarf's Sketchy At Best and Dipskit - A Live Sketch Show at Sydney Fringe Comedy. Rachael’s comedy and satire articles have been published in McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Points In Case, and Slackjaw Humor, among others.

Outside of writing, Rachael is also an accomplished performer. Following her sold out run at Sydney Fringe Festival 2018, Rachael took her critically acclaimed solo stand-up show Lower Your Expectations to Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, and Newcastle Fringe in 2019, where she enjoyed successful runs (including sold out shows) and received overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Rachael was selected to perform as part of the What She Said Comedy Showcase at the first ever Newcastle Comedy Festival in 2019 and the Women In Comedy Festival in Boston, USA in 2020. She has told stories at Generation Women Sydney, A Likely Story, and on ABC Radio, and performed as a guest storyteller with Snort NZ at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. After moving to Canada in November 2019, Rachael performed and produced shows at the famous Comedy Bar, and performed at Yuk Yuk’s Toronto and Burlington, Corner Comedy, and Underground Cafe.

A graduate of The Second City’s flagship Conservatory Program in both Toronto and Chicago, Rachael has performed both long and short form improv comedy. She has also studied and performed with Improv Theatre Sydney and Laugh-Masters Academy in Australia. Rachael was also a producer of What She Said Comedy, Sydney's first all women comedy night.
